Hope.

It’s usually reserved for 11th hour miracles and when you’ve surrendered to exhausting all options.

Broad hopeful thinking doesn’t create change however, used strategically, hope can supercharge your bigger picture and your energy on a daily basis.

That’s what I discussed with Dermot O’Gorman, CEO of World Wildlife Fund on our Leading Generous Teams podcast this week.

Dermot is a global sustainable development leader with 25 years’ experience in envisioning, ideating, and implementing solutions to protect wildlife and the environment.

He has worked with WWF for more than two decades, serving as the CEO of WWF-Australia, WWF-Pacific, and WWF-China  and several board positions, including the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID).  Following the devastating bushfires of 2019-20, he oversaw the launch of the largest wildlife and landscape regeneration program in the nation’s history, Regenerate Australia.

In this episode:

  • How Dermot O’Gorman fuels and engages his team, even during change

  • Insights into techniques for resetting + recharging leadership

  • How he circuit breaks to bring more hope to his leadership
